DISCOVER THE COAST
Experience the magnificent coastal scenery along the Western District of Victoria
|
For magnificent coastal and hinterland scenery, travel the Henty highway through the small townships of Branxholme and Condah and on through Heywood to the coastal city of Portland (the location of the first settlement in Victoria). You will be charmed with the many historic buildings that remain to give the city a special place in the birth of what is now known as the Western District of Victoria.
From here it’s only a short trip to picturesque Bridgewater Bay where, via boat, 100’s of fur seals may be seen. Bridgewater also boasts magnificent beaches, great surfing and spectacular views. The road east towards Warrnambool will take you through Narrawong and Tyrendarra before turning north to Heywood and Condah, where you’ll pass the Lake Condah Aboriginal Mission on your return route to Hamilton.
