Hamilton Victoria

Spectacular Grampian views

Enjoy the magnificent views of the beautiful Grampians Mountains

A continuous view of the majestic Grampians, the southern tip of the Great Dividing Range, is the focal point as you drive through various small towns not far from your chosen stopover in Hamilton.
Just ten minutes drive from Dunkeld back along the highway towards Glenthompson is the Grampians Pure Sheep Milk Dairy where stocks of award-winning products are for sale. The town of Glenthompson has a historic cemetery, swimming pool and picnic facilities.

The drive towards Ararat takes in the old-world character of Wilaura where you head towards the Grampians on Yarram Gap road; then turn left at the Grampians tourist road and shortly right up over Mirranatwa Gap, where you’ll enjoy spectacular views of the Grampians and Victoria Valley.

As you travel home via Cavendish you could alternatively take the Hamilton Airport road which offers different views of the city and along the way you’ll pass the site of the original airfield and birthplace of Ansett Airlines, the parkland golf course and Lake Hamilton.
