Nelson

Nelson is situated on the heritage listed Glenelg River, some two kilometers from the mouth with views of the ocean across the sand hills to the south either side of the river estuary. The area is a popular destination for those wanting access to numerous holiday experiences without the crowds associated with some more populated destinations.

The area offers wild ocean beaches, beautiful estuary and river and the surrounding Lower Glenelg National Park. It is an ideal spot for fishing, river canoeing and camping at sites not accessible by car, water skiing and exploring the Princess Margaret Rose Cave. Nelson is also within easy reach of extensive wineries, shopping in Mount Gambier and Portland or dining on crayfish in season at Port MacDonnell.
